Andrew Arnegard, former residence of Park Rapids, passed away at St. John's Hospital in Fargo, ND on September 29, 1969, at the age of 87 years.
Andrew Arnegard was born in Hillsboro, ND on 30 October 1881. He was united in marriage to Lena Knudson on 5 April 1909 in Grand Forks, ND. He was a rural mail carrier in the Grafton, ND area, where he was a resident for 55 years. In 1964, he moved to Park Rapids. This year he moved to Moorhead, and his wife preceded him in death on June 24, 1969.
Private family services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 1969, at Jones Funeral Home, with Pastor Roger P. Olson of Calvary Lutheran Church of Park Rapids officiating. Organist and soloist, Mrs. Larry Cheney sang, "Jesus Lord and Precious Savior". Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Allen of Glendale, CA; two daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Joy) Lang of Park Rapids and Mrs. A.G. (Echo) Schlukbier of San Diego, CA; four grandchildren, Lt. Allan C. Schlukbier of Gt. Falls, MT; Mrs. Phillip (Sylvia) Lilleberg, of Billings, MT; Tracy Lang of Rockford, IL; and George A. Schlukbier of San Diego, CA; and three great-grandchildren.
Relatives attending the services from out of town included; Allen Arnegard of Glendale, CA; Mrs. Clara Hage of Grand Forks, ND and Lt. Allan C. Schlukbier of Gt. Falls, MT.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Park Rapids, Hubbard County, Minnesota, USA

Arnegard School, Arnegard, North Dakota
This school was built by my ancestors, the Arnegard family, who settled in North Dakota in the late 1800's. They emigrated to the U.S. from Aal, Halingdal, Norway. They were successful farmers, bankers and businessmen.
